New AAIP Worker Expression of Interest System: What You Need to Know As of September 30, 2024, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has introduced a new system for candidates interested in applying to its worker streams. This update requires potential applicants to submit a Worker Expression of Interest (EOI) to be considered for an invitation to apply. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what this means for you.
What is the Worker Expression of Interest (EOI)? The Worker EOI is a formal declaration of your interest in applying to one of the AAIP’s worker streams. It allows candidates to provide key information about themselves through an online form available on the AAIP portal. Each submission is then scored and ranked using the Worker EOI points grid. Key Features of the Worker EOI System:
No Submission Fee: Unlike many application processes, submitting a Worker EOI is completely free of charge. This makes it accessible to a wider range of candidates.
Self-Declared Information: You will be required to self-declare various details about your profile, including work experience, education, and language proficiency, among other factors. The information you provide will be used to calculate your EOI score
EOI Pool and Draws: Once submitted, your EOI will be placed in the Worker Stream pool. The AAIP will then conduct periodic draws from this pool, selecting candidates based on their EOI score, the current provincial labour market needs, available AAIP nominations, and the level of applications. Successful candidates will receive an invitation to apply via email.
One EOI Per Candidate: You can only have one active Worker EOI at any time. If you have an existing Worker EOI, Entrepreneur EOI, or an active AAIP application, you must withdraw these before creating a new Worker EOI.
